Brad,

Thank you for your response to my letter. You did raise an
interesting question that I have been wondering. How do you
effectively block off that whole area under the dashboard
(where the wiring is) so that the ferrets can't get through the
firewall to the engine compartment? I thought about stuffing a
lightweight blanket in there but I'm concerned about an electrical
short causing a fire, overheating of the electrical equipment
(I can't lose my tunes!), or the blanket only making it more
attractive for the ferrets to climb in there.

I wouldn't want poor Ayla to simulate a Quaker State Oil commercial
in MY engine!

"...Smaller engines rev higher which could quickly break down a ferrets
  viscosity....etc. etc. " (Picture a red-hot, glowing ferret here).

[I've deleted Brad Laraway's message, which was obviously email directly
to you. It's considered poor form to publish private email. If Brad would
like to resend his message here, that is fine. I should also point
out that the FML isn't intended to be an extension of rec.pets
conversations and this appears to have been a question by Tyler on rec.pets,
which Brad responded to by email. Then Tyler sends his reply to the
FML. Wierd ;-)]
