Sorry to hear about Nala's heart.  Here are a few things for you to think
about and ask your vet.
 
It isn't a good idea to split pills that aren't scored.  That means they
have a line going down them.  There is no way of knowing how much actual
medication the ferret is getting.  It may not be distributed evenly though
the whole pill.
 
I would ask the vet for some liquid Lasix, it is also a diuretic.  That way
you draw it up in a syringe.
 
If you must split the pills, then try a single edged razor blade.  They are
the ones with metal wrapped around one side so that you don't cut yourself.
