Kudos to our partner, the ASPCA for the great work they've been doing in
NYC!!!

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA)
reports that as of 12pm Saturday, September 15, 2001 over 100 animals
including cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs and ferrets have received
medical care from veterinarians at the ASPCA mobile veterinary unit.
These animals were rescued from homes that had been evacuated following
the World Trade Center disaster. Animals are being treated primarily for
shock, dehydration, and respiratory distress.

The ASPCA has set up a command center and pet rescue hotline in response
to the plight of pets affected by the disaster and was equipped with a
mobile veterinary medical unit, emergency medical supplies, pet carriers,
pet food, and a psychologist trained to help distressed pet owners. For
some examples of their work, visit the ASPCA website at http://aspca.org
and click on PRESS PHOTOS OF ASPCA RESCUE EFFORTS. And remember to
recommend the Petfinder.com site to anyone looking for resource
information. Stay safe and kiss your critters. --Kim
