Find out who supplies their ferrets.

Marshall Farms has a history of requiring stores to use larger
enclosures and I HAVE seen them force that on a store with refusal
to supply the store. (Yeah, I will use someone else's muscle if I
absolutely have to...)

They may not apply that pressure any longer since so many alternative
sources exist. I don't know. The enclosure they forced the place to use
was really large and well made, BTW, so must have been a joy for the
ferrets at that particular store since it was using two 10 or 15 gallon
aquaria for multiple ferrets in each. This was maybe 10 years ago or so.

I have never seen any of the other farms require large enclosures.

Depending on which state you are in there may be a way to address this
through your state. If there is an agency which licenses (or provides
permits for) ferrets in your state like in mine ask them, and if not
then ask your state (not federal) senate or house member.
