Hi all. I've only heard a ferret scream once and I'll NEVER forget it. It
was the day after we brought Sable & Whitey home (they were just babies).
Sable was playing by himself in a corner of the bathroom behind the door.
It was time for him & his brother to go down for a nap, so I went in to
pick him up & tuck him in. The light was off. In retrospect, I guess I must
have looked intimidating with the light shining behind me--like the
"Shadow" from a Marvel or D. C. Comic book or something--with my arms
outstretched and coming at him. He was dooking away minding his own
business, turned around, looked up, saw me (though he didn't recognize me)
and let out a whale of a scream ("AHHHH!!!!"). This startled me since I
wasn't expecting such a reaction and I screamed back ("AHHHHH!!!"). It took
us both a second or two before we figured out what exactly was going on.
Whew! Did we ever feel silly afterwards, and had ourselves a good laugh.
Definitely NOT a ferret to tell ghost stories to (though I think his
brother, Whitey the fearless, wouldn't mind hearing some "haunted cage"
reportings...)

Happy dooking, and beware the SHADOW!!!
Glor & Sable
(also our other family members: Pete & Whitey and Tipper the Manx)
