We have one, Niblet, who went blind after her spleen, left adrenal, and
most of her pancreas was removed.  She's also 8.  Being blind doesn't seem
to bother her at all, unless you sneak up on her.  But she does just the
cutest thing when she wakes up.  if she smells that a human is in the room,
she shuffles over to your feet and pokes at one, then the other, as if to
say, "one foot, two foot, yup a biped" then she shuffles away.
