I think *anyone* should use good old common sense when dealing w/ any
sort of infestation, or any kind of treatment -- GET THE ANIMALS OUT OF
THE HOUSE before doing *anything*....& people, too, for that matter.
And after any kind of treatment, do not return until the premises have
been cleaned, & cleaned again.

A quick look at any news site on the 'net will bring up stories of
illnesses, & even at least one documented death (in NYC) due to the
misuse of bug bombs & such to try to get rid of bed bugs. While it's
true that *most* people/animals will not experience any problems, you
know the old saying -- "your mileage may vary" -- & eventually, someone
will assume they will have no problems using any of these treatments, &
suffer the consequences. Everyone's tolerance to different chemicals
will be different, human or animal. Why risk it? As for treatments
using high heat, we all know that ferrets are very sensitive to high
heat, & it would not be safe to expose them to such conditions, even
for a brief time.

If you have any reason to treat your home, etc, for bed bugs or any
other type of infestation, do the safest thing -- get the animals out
of the house/apartment, board them w/ your vet, at a friend's house,
etc.

Since there seems to be so much conflicting info out there, why
risk it?

Lin
