Our Punky Doodle started exhibiting signs of adrenal problems last year and
my vet put him on Lysodren and Prednisone. I believe the Lysodren was the
primary treatment in this case. Within a few (3 or 4) weeks, hair started
to grow back on his hindquarters. We had to stop the Lysodren after about
two weeks because he was not eating well. I guess Lysodren is pretty
potent. Anyway, he seemed fine for almost a year.

Now he's starting to lose hair on his shoulders and we're trying to decide
whether or not to go in for exploratory. He's fairly old (adopted - we
think he's 5 or 6) and has a slightly enlarged heart, so we're not sure what
to do at this point. After two sets of X-rays two weeks apart and a session
with a board certified radiologist for an ultrasound, the vet can't really
tell me whether or not his heart will stand the stress of surgery.
