Hi everybody,
Things are crazy. We've just got 5 more ferrets yesterday. I think people
are cleaning out pets along with their spring cleaning.

Scruffy I just picked up yesterday morning at my vets office. He was found
in the parking lot. Poor kid. I knew I was looking at an albino from the
pink eyes, but the poor kid was literally covered in grease. He looked
like a pure black ferret. I got him home and gave him quite the bath. And
yep it indeed was white under all that mess. He's going to be a gorgeous
kid too. He's not up for adoption yet though. I'm going to put an ad in
our paper to see if he belonged to someone. It's sad though. He was
covered in scratches from one end to the other too. I almost wonder if was
up in a car and thats where he got covered in grease and cuts. Luckily
none look to be infected or very deep. He's obviously been out awhile too.
I think he's one big ferret, but he has all this extra skin that I would
bet was filled out with muscle and fat not to long ago. After his bath he
ate an amazing amount of food, drank a lot of water and then proceeded to
dance like mad around me, ending with him standing on two legs in front of
me, just begging to be held. The love gave me lots and lots of kisses.
He's just a big hunk.

Four more ferrets were dropped off later today too, 2 one year olds and 2
six month olds. All soo pretty and sweet. I can't imagine someone would
buy four gorgeous ferrets, an amazingly huge cage and an absolute load of
toys only to give them all up within a year. Well, I'm sure these great
kids are going to make someone a very proud parent. Pics of them should be
up by the time you get this, hopefully. Geocities is behaving badly at the
moment.

Update on Big Bear-This kid has just been through everything. He lost alot
of weight recently from diarrehia, brought him in to the vets nothing could
be found wrong. So we've been ducksouping and treating the diarrehia and
he's steadily gaining weight back. Now he's going in on Sunday to have his
neuter finished. He was supposed to of been neutered and descented by the
vet who had turned him into me. Low and behold though we found a testicle,
so thats going to be removed. He also is going to have his scent glands
checked, since though he was descented, he still poofed at one of my ferts.
If they are not mangled he'll keep those, otherwise off with those too. To
top it off....We thought it was urine burn when he first came to us. He
had missing hair around his penis and down his legs and lots of sweling and
redness. Though that was indeed part of the problem and all his hair is
back now and no more redness, it looks like the swelling was from a broken
penis. Can you believe this? So Big Bear is going in Sunday for a full
rear end check. No wonder he's been a bit stressed. So everyone think of
the big guy on Sunday and send him your best wishes. All in all though,
all these things are fixable, or at least not a terminal problem by any
means.

Best wishes to all and their fuzzy friends. My all the sick ferts get well
and all the ferrets gone past may they play and romp happily on Rainbow
Bridge until you are returned to them.

Dooks to all,
Kristine, Bear, Syvia, Moby and Sid
