Many thanks for all your suggestions on the ferret who will not feed
himself. Six weeks and 500 dollars have passed and he has gained 1/2
pound (now weighing 3 lbs.) and has been pronounced in perfect health--
except that he refuses tpo eat the food from the bowl. Have learned quite
a bit about this individual--he will not eat sooner than 6 hrs. apart;
doesn't care if the syringe has dry food or wet food; and in a 24 hr.
period will NOT feed himself. I don't have the heart or the courage to try
the 72 waiting period, but am considering leaving him at the vet's for such
a try. I have read numerous posts about missing ferrets for 48 hrs. with
no ill effects or am I just trying to convince myself this is so? Thanks
for all your support
