Hello. I know lots of people on the list have deaf ferrets, but I was
wondering if it's normal for some hearing ferrets to lose this sense. I
just realized that one of my ferrets is deaf. I realized it suddenly,
but now looking back know it's been like this for a couple weeks. I
have tested her with treat cans and calling for her (I haven't tested
loud noises like the vacuum). Has anyone else had a ferret lose their
hearing? Could it be a symptom of something else, or just the process of
aging. Anyone with a deaf ferret want to share any tips or advice? It
doesnt' seem to be affecting her too much (breaks my heart that she can't
hear me talk to her, but I make sure to kiss her more rather than coo
words of endearment).
