The Aleutian virus was found to live for up to 2 years on contaminates
cages and in dust in the same room.  ( Sweden ).
 
Washing and house hold bleach will not normally kill the virus.  If you
want to be really safe, soak everything in a Parvocide dilution for 10
minutes.
