USGS Ferret Expert Recognized: USGS Scientist Dean Biggins will receive
the Denver Zoological Foundation Conservation Award on November 10 for
his work with black-footed ferrets.  Dr. Biggins currently is conducting
research on plague, a disease considered to be one of the most serious
impediments to black-footed ferret recovery.
