I have just been notified that the Front Royal VA Conservation and Research
Center, which has been in the forefront of the black-footed ferret
reintroduction program for many years, is threatened with closing due to
budget cuts.  Information about the closing, which will adversely affect
not only the ferret program, but many other endangered species research
