One of my girls has some hair loss at the back above her tail. I am
taking her to the local vet tomorrow. We will be giving her a lupron
shot. In the area I live there are no vets experienced with adrenal
surgery, but should I choose to do this, there are great vets 3 or 4
hours away.

My question is whether to do the surgery or just go with lupron and
melatonin.

I have had her for 3 years, but her age is unknown. The rescue I
adopted her from guesses she is at least 6 now. She also has Irritable
Bowel Disease. She was on pred for a few months but I have been able
to control it with a homemade diet, no kibble, no chicken.

What I am asking for help with is does anyone know if IBD makes her a
bad candidate for surgery?
Also what about her unknown age?

This would be the first adrenal surgery for me and needless to say I
am nervous about it. I do want to do what is best for her.

Inge
