What's shaken gang?

Just wanted to introduce the newest edition to our arc (so dubbed by the
neighbors because all the animals are in two's...until now). Last night
Steven brought home the sweetest little 2 year old black sable female.
Apparently her previous owners, who just had their third baby, no longer had
time for her and wanted to know if Steve new a good home. Well, he said he
didn't but that I had contacts. She's a little chucky (about 3 lbs.) but
she has the softest, shiniest coat and a wonderful disposition. Of course,
Steven made it quite clear that this was a TEMPORARY guest in our house
until I could find a suitable home (which may take a while since I have no
intention of looking!).

She, Tabitha, was on sensory overload last night with all the new smells and
faces so I am hoping that she is a little more settled tonight. The cats
showed very little interest in her, they smelled her and looked at me like
"yeah, so" and the dogs just smelled her butt (they're so classy). The real
surprise came from Chelsea and Lucy! They smelled and nibbled as if biting
fleas but not a single fight erupted! I was amazed considering what we went
through when we got Chelsea! Despite their gentleness Tabitha was terrified
(her previous owners had no other pets) so I locked in Jessica's room and
let her explore. She is obviously frightened and sad but I hope to cheer
her up tonight. Jessica's staying with my mother tonight so mom and the
girls are going SHOPPING! She's never had any toys so we are heading to Pet
Smart for some new squeaky's and another harness.

Of course, the new comer means that we have to renovate the cage again! We
removed the second level when Chelsea arrived but I can't see wasting all
that space so I am going for broke with a tri-level. Although this will
mean that there will no longer be enough head room for me to get in the cage
but I'm sure they will be much happier!

God bless and love to all,
Irena...Lucy, Chelsea, Rikki and Tabitha's mom

P.S. If anyone is having problems with their clear dryer hose (my girls
have torn ours to shreds) you may want to try this: I purchased 3 yards of
the clear vinyl that you cover table cloths with, rolled it around the ribs
of the dryer hose and sealed the ends with clear packing tape. It is much
more sturdy and it's cheap ($1.57/yd at Wal-Mart).
