this years winter coats

Has anyone else noticed that this year their ferrets have the lushest,
fullest, heaviest winter coats and highest weight gain of any winters in
recent history?  I am just wondering if it is my food/lighting/home
temp/etc., or if everyone is experieinceing it.
 
I am wondering if it is a prediction of a really COLD winter...  :-(
