I just wanted to say "Thank you!" to everyone who answered my post
about wood stove pellets and my baby vomiting. Thanks so much - I'm so
glad I found the FML - you people are all amazing. If ALL of humanity
were this helpful, kind, and giving, the world would be a much better
place!

Anyway, since my post, Benny has not vomited again. I spoke to the vet
and he gave me a mini lesson over the phone about how to palpate a
ferret's tummy to see if you can feel anything that could indicate a
blockage. Usually if ferrets have a blockage their tummies will also
be very tender and they may even bite you for touching it. Benny didn't
seem to mind though he was wiggling to go the whole time! His poops
are still normal and not stringy or weird colored. So I'm sure that
he's fine. If he throws up again, I will probably take him to the vet
though - just to be safe. And thanks for all the advice about litter
and wood stove pellets.

Has anyone ever heard about ferrets possibly eating non-toxic, washable
crayons? A friend of mine has a couple ferrets and she saw one of them
steal a crayon and he ran so fast that she couldn't get it away from
him. A few hours later, the ferret pooped and the poop was bright blue!
I already chastised her on keeping that kind of thing away from her
ferrets. I don't think that the crayon could have caused any blockage
either - the washable crayons dissolve pretty fast in water alone. We
also called the vet and the manufacturer and both said that they
crayons aren't toxic or harmful to ferrets.
