Assembly Bill 363 passed the Water, Parks & Wildlife Committee on Tuesday
(9-1-5). We needed 8 to pass. Here is how the vote went:

Assembly Members who voted AYE:

     Bob Margett (Vice-Chair) [Rep 59th]
     Debra Bowen [Dem 53rd]
     Dennis Cardoza [Dem 26th]
     Denise Ducheney [Dem 79th]
     Mike Honda [Dem 23rd]
     Rico Oller [Rep 4th]
     Virginia Strom-Martin [Dem 1st]
     Helen Thomson [Dem 8th]
     Tom Torlakson [Dem 11th]

Assembly Members who voted NO:

     Mike Machado (Chair) [Dem 17th]

Assembly Members who Abstained, were Absent, or who did not vote:

     Tony Cardenas [Dem 39th]
     Peter Frusetta [Rep 28th]
     Charles Poochigian [Rep 29th]
     Bruce Thompson [Rep 66th]
     Tom Woods [Rep 2nd]

Assembly Members who were removed from the Committee:

     Grace Napolitano [Dem 58th]
     Nao Takasugi [Rep 37th]

Please take the time to write these individuals and thank them for their
support (addresses accessable through our web site). For those who voted NO
or Abstained, write them too, but be polite and express your disappointment.
Some of these members are on the next committee we need to pass.

The next step is the Assembly's Appropriations Committee. Stay tuned to the
CFL web site for further information about this committee and what we need
you to do.

Please keep in mind that we have a long way to go yet. The Domestic Ferret
is still ILLEGAL to own as a pet in California. The bill doesn't become law
until it goes through quite a few other steps including the Governor's
signature.

Do not take your ferret out into the open yet.
