I got a message tonight from a woman, her brother lives in Sayre,
Pennsylvania, which is right on the border of New York. He has been
hospitalized for an indefinite amount of time. He owns "at least 2 ferrets
that he can't take care of." As of tonight, the ferrets are home alone with
nobody to care for them. The sister lives out of state and can do nothing
to help.

I know *nothing* else about the ferrets, I don't even know how many there
are. Because of work, I cannot get to the ferrets until this weekend, and
even then, it's a pretty long haul to Sayre.

Are there any NY ferret shelters (or people who want to take these guys in)
that are in a position to get to these ferrets sooner?? The exact words
from the sister were: "They will be alone and unattended starting tonight
and I have no way of knowing what state they're in already."

To me, this set alarms off in my brain. I checked Ferret Central but I
don't know NY geography at all and don't know if there's anyone close
enough to help.

Please, if you can help out, e-mail me at BOTH of the following email
addresses (so I am assured I will get your response as quickly as
possible!!) [log in to unmask] AND [log in to unmask] Thanks in
advance.
