I have a beautiful 2yo (?) dark sable female in... very sweet.  I thought
she was a male when I first picked her up from the SPCA b/c of her size!
Only problem - I can't get a kiss out of her! ;-)  Besides first being
skittish of me, she now follows me around and loves to play with toys.  Her
black paws clutch my hand or shoulder when being held, like she is scared
of being held and/or dropped.  She's very sweet and needs a new home...
 
Wake County (NC) Animal Control called me today (7/19).  An animal cruelty
case went to trial today.  The owner of the three ferrets, snakes, rats,
etc., pled guilty to animal cruetly.  He [Anthony] kept all the animals in
an apartment under terrible conditions.  The ferrets have been examined and
supervised by Tower Vet Hospital.  All are okay and doing well.  The two
males and one female are being turned over to me Thursday after being in
the AC shelter; caged 24/7 for over two weeks.  The ferrets will be turned
over to Diane Campbell of Ferret Guardian Rescue Haven of Statesville, NC
(three hours from Raleigh).  Diane has over 50 ferrets in her care - many
awaiting surgical care when funds are available.
 
If you would like to adopt the single girl, the threesome, a pair, or help
sponsor the ferret shelter with a donation, please let me know...
 
Remember, it can be hard caring for 1-11 ferrets, but think about the full
time job of caring for 50+ ...
