Hey Gang,
MY GOODNESS!  I never dreamed that there were this many shelters that
handled ferrets in my area!  Thank you to FerretFan, Ellen Byrne, and Bill
and Diane Killian for the speedy responses.  I will contact all of you as
soon as I regain the ground I lost this weekend!  Ever since Lucy got
outside that evening about a month a ago I have been extremely paranoid and
driving the everyone crazy with my fears.  Well, this weekend little Miss
Stinkbutt found a new hiding place and didn't tell me!  I looked and looked
(because I had not seen in a few hours) and then started to get scared.  The
dogs had been in and out all evening but I was sure that I had been careful
not to let her slip passed me (we still haven't found a Lucy proof collar).
Then I started to panic "what if she HAD gotten by me?!".  By the time Steve
and Jessica got home I was in FULL PANIC MODE (SCARED, MAD, CRYING,
PRAYING)!  I was already double-checking hiding places when Steve called
"she's out here, honey"!  I was relieved, exhausted, and mad that she didn't
come when I called (and called and called!).  Little WENCH!  At this point
Steve conveniently adds "see how stressed out you get, honey, that's why I
don't want to get another ferret".
 
Cross your fingers that I can undo the damage!  Lucy's counting on me!
