It is with a very heavy heart that I write about the passing of my little
Buddy. He died in my arms just seconds after I picked him up for his
feeding and medication around 6:00 this evening. He surprised me and I
didn't have the chance to tell him about the Rainbow Bridge. I did tell
him after he passed, in hopes that his little spirit was still with in
hearing distance.

Buddy was diagnosed with insulinoma almost 2 years ago. In fact it
would have been 2 years in March. He did really well on prednisone
and diazoxide and regular feedings of duck soup. I made his duck soup
with essiac in it. Buddy would eat really well most times, but would
have short periods of eating poorly on his own. During these periods
he would still eat if I fed him by syringe. I would often think he
was just wanting to be pampered a little. And he well deserved the
pampering. For the last few days Buddy was not eating well and was a
little cuddlier than usual. Then tonight he just took one last breath
as I picked him up this evening.

Buddy was 8 years old and I am pretty sure he was blind with cataracts.
He also had a very large tummy from a very enlarged spleen and I'm sure
part of it was from the prednisone, That didn't stop him from getting
into all kinds of mischief. I had a potted plant on the kitchen table
and he would love to dig in it when he was finished eating his duck
soup. I wrapped his body in a piece of bright orange polar fleece. His
favourite blanket and my favourite colour. I know he had to leave me,
but that doesn't make it hurt any less. He's been with me since he was
a kit and helped to welcome rescues that came into my home. Buddy lived
up to his name, he loved everyone human and critter alike. He liked all
other ferrets and our 3 kitties and the dog.

Sandee please welcome Buddy to the Bridge and see that he meets up with
his mates that have gone before him. There are quite a few of them,
Moxy. Baby, Mitzy, Sandy, Beaseley, Bear, Toby, Murphy, Daisy, Heidi.
Casey. Smokey and Bandit. Please tell him how very much I miss him and
love him, and that I'm sorry I didn't get to tell him about the Bridge,
although I'm sure he will remember everyone. Please let them all know
how much I miss them. There is not much left of my heart as they have
all taken a little piece of it with them.
