Hello everyone,

Well its been an up and down month here. For financial reasons we are
moving in with family in Idaho...the bummer part being that we have to go
without our babies. After a lot of phone calls and frustration we were
able to find homes for all but one of our children...that would be the down
part. It was heartbreaking to part with my beloved fur kids but they all
went into loving homes. Then today the best part happened...they decided
that we could bring the remaining ferret with us!!! Joy of joys!!! I'm
really glad I didn't have to pick which one of them I got to keep...I
couldn't have done it.

Now to my questions....one of the reasons that we couldn't find a home for
Dhugal is because he is not descented and while our family is willing to
let him come with us in spite of this, we believe it would help keep peace
in the house if he was descented. He is also extremely agressive to other
ferrets so finding him a home where they could guarantee that he would
always be a single ferret also proved to be difficult. They have a cat
and while Dhugal rarely poofs when playing with humans, with animals its
another story! So question number one, what are the pros and cons of
getting a ferret descented later in life? Is it even possible? We don't
know his true age but his estimated age is 3.

Second question, we will be needing a vet in our new hometown (or near it).
We will be near Coeur d'Alene, Idaho so if anyone has any recommendations
on a knowledgeable vet I would really appreciate it. I did a search today
and unfortunately came up blank with any vets besides in the Boise area
which is clearly out of question. There is a vet in town, but considering
the area I'd be pretty darn sure they specialize in livestock.

Since we are in the finishing stages of packing I'd appreciate if anyone
with any information would reply off list to me....I'm mostly skimming
email these days....so much to do so little time. Moving date is November
21st and incidently if anyone is in need of a ferret transport anywhere
from Eugene, Oregon to Couer d'Alene Idaho give me a holler.

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies! Cross your fingers for us on the
drive...I hear its snow snow snow snow snow! Can't wait to take Dhugy out
to play in it once we get there!!
