We have found that they either love it or hate it! Those that love it will
burrow through it, pounce on it, chase flakes and generally have a ball!
We always kept the snow playtime to a maximum of 15 minutes. They always
seemed to tell us when they had enough or were getting cold, and we would
pick them up and snuggle them under our coats or take them back indoors.
Of course it is crusical that they were a brightly colored leash and
harness when they are playing in the snow (or outside for any reason for
that matter!) so that if they burrow you can easily find them. We also
avoid taking them out on really cold days. We also avoid letting them walk
on areas which have been salted or have any kind of de-icer on them as it
can be casutic to their pads. We rinse their feet off in warm water after
they have come back inside.
