Greetings to all Fuzzies & their pet people!!

This is in response to the person that was worried about California
Adopters. I live in California and I adopt in Nevada.

We do worry about the Gestapo. We worry about knocks at the front door.
"CHECK BABIES" is a big sign on my front door. It is a major stress just to
take our babies to the vets. We have to be sure we drive really carefully
so we aren't stopped by the men in blue or involved in a traffic accident.
We can't openly enjoy our babies by going to parks, etc. When we go on
vacation, I have my husband's son come in to babysit (He is 35) So, we have
to arrange our vacation to suit his schedule. I can't leave my levolors
fully open in their bedroom. We become somewhat reclusive as our ferrets
are so important to us. Ten years ago, it was estimated that there were
approximately 500,000 + ferrets in California. I live in Northern
California near San Francisco. I have four ferret clubs within 50 miles of
me. I think that tells a story of the ferret numbers right there. I am a
native (over 50 grandma) Californian. I have four fuzzies. 8 weeks to 2
years. My dream is to retire to a state where I can have my fuzzies in
public. However, I still don't think I would flaunt them. I would be real
paranoid about strangers coming up and mistaking a kiss for an attempt to
bite.

My ferrets have their own 11 x 12' ferret safe playroom, as I want to be
able to close them off to casual acquaintances etc. They are caged in very
large ferret condos while I am at work. I mail order my Totally Ferret from
out of state.

So, you see we residents of CA CA Land are very caring people. We are
fighting very hard to legalize our babies and make tremendous sacrifices for
them. It really hurts when someone from another state seems to put us in
the same category as our own state government gestapo do. We have enough
prejudice to deal with from the gestapo without the added prejudice of
ferret owners from the "Legal Side" of the tracks.

Fuzzy Love To All!!
