I've got the perfect solution for you!  A little while ago I purchased
thru a ferret magazine 2 ferret t-shirts for my girls.  The picture in
the mag showed this ferret with a loose t-shirt on, sort of like the
doggie sweaters, but not quite that tight.  They had 2 sizes, Small for
females and Large for males.  We ordered the smalls since they only
weigh 1.5 pounds.  They were adorable - looked like pink Barbie dresses!
 When we put them on the girls, they fit them like a glove - WAY too
tight!  Not tight like squeezing the blood out of them, but tight like
MOM I CAN'T MOVE!!!
 
Perfect!  Try a tube sock if you don't want to order a t-shirt/straight
jacket.  Put the top part of the sock on over all 4 paws and quickly
give the medicine.  Should hold him long enough.
