Before ferrets were leagal in Maine I was in a pet store that had a special
"wild animal" liscense. The person who worked there was holding the cutest
animal I'd ever sen. I aked him what it was and he told me it was a
ferret. Being an animal lover I reached out to touch it and he said that
she would bite. After that I saw the movie "Beastmaster" and again fell in
love. Shortly after that ferrets became leagal in Maine and would travel
down to Bangor every weekend and stay with a friend so I could go o the pet
stores to play with the ferrets until I could afford one of my own. I knew
absolutely nothing about these animals and was told very little about them
at the pet store. I did buy a book about them and learned as much as was
available at the time. All of this was 10 or 12 years ago. I've had
ferrets ever since. I've met some wonderful people because of the ferrets.
At first my ferret went every where with me, including church. They still
go many places, but since they've had ece I'm a little more nervous about
taking them every where because I would hate to have them pick up any thing
else. I guess I'm a little paranoid. Once in a while they do still travel
with me.
