For diarrhea I give my ferrets a small amount of regular strength
pepto. Serena the ferruppy who has mega-e also gets pepto to coat her
esophagus. She thinks it is a treat.

BUT for those that don't want to give pepto, there is Pet Pectillin.
Contains pectin and kaolin (the old formula of Kaopectate contained
this ingredient). I use this too and it has worked well for us.
