Tara E, EVERYTHING you wrote sounds like adrenal neoplasia.

>Hello! I'm writing on behalf of my niece who owns a little ferret named
>Jynx, and needs your advice. Jynx is a small female, almost 3 yrs old.
>About 6 months ago she began losing her hair and weight... Her hair lose
>is all over- not in up her tail and hind legs (like Adrenal Gland
>Disease).

ANY fur loss which is bilateral (both sides of the body) and occurs
forward of the tail is USUALLY adrenal neoplasia.

Fur loss on the tail ONLY is more often a dermal (skin) problem, but can
at times signal adrenal neoplasia.

>She was taken to the vet who said that nothing was wrong.

Ferret vets can be found by using the many listings of vets folks are
using for ferrets:

From the Critical Refs at http://ferretcongress.org :
Finding a veterinarian
http://www.smartgroups.com/vault/ferrethealth/ReferenceShelf/FerretVets.htm
http://fhl.sonic-weasel.org/vets/ Search by zip code, read FAQ first.

http://www.geocities.com/houseferrets13uk/Vets.html UK vets
http://www.ferrets.org/Veterinarian_Listings.htm British Columbia vets
and

http://www.ferretsanonymous.com/medical.html (CA)
as well as
http://www.supportourshelters.org
http://www.ferretuniverse.com/index.html
listings in magazines
listings kept by local clubs

If you go to the critical refs in:
http://www.ferretcongress.org you will find that there are many very
useful write-ups on this (including by ferret knowledgeable vets).

There is also a great deal (including by such vets) in the archives of
the FHL and FML:

http://fhl.sonic-weasel.org (FHL)

know that most adrenal growths are benign)
