Yesterday, on a dog list I belong too, several people wrote in regarding
problems their dogs and apparently exotic birds were having with the
product called Fabreeze. Apparently Proctor and Gamble is aware of several
problems but has no intentions of removing the product from the market.

In a nutshell - an exotic bird list posted a warning that use of the
product was causing the death of some exotic birds. Then, people began
writing of alergic reactions their dogs and cats were having to the
product. P & G did do some testing around dogs and cats but no one knows
what or how much. The dog list was warning owners to be careful around
puppies and dogs with skin sensitivities. In some animals the problems
came about just from coming into contact with an article that had been
sprayed with the product. Considering the size of our ferrets and the
fast metabolism rate, it might pay to do some more research, call the
company or at least be cautious about using it.
