We just discovered out ferrets have ear mites.
 
They have had them for a long time, but although I mentioned to our 'old'
vet that I kept cleaning their ears yet they never would be clean, he
dismissed it with "ferrets have very waxy ears" and never bothered to
check.  Now we have another vet... :)
 
Anyway, we are having to scruff them to flush out their ears and administer
the ear drops, and I was just wondering if anyone knows whether that is too
much of a strain on their spinal cord for long periods of time.  I know
this is how mama-ferret used to carry them around, but they weren't as
heavy then... ;)
