This is one very good reason why kits should stay with their mothers
longer....

Prolapsed rectums can happen from being weaned too soon - baby ferrets
should be naturally weaned around 6 weeks of age - not in a pet store
at that age. Judi Bell says they aren't ready for solid food at 3 and
4 wks of age.

You might want to try using some plain ordinary chicken baby food (use the
Beachnut rather than Gerber's - Gerber's has added celery powder and onion
extract - Beechnut is just plain ol' chicken and broth) - and pulverize
the Totally Ferret, MFF, mix it with the baby food, warm it up, and feed
it that way.

Feed small frequent amounts - remember, babies have VERY small tummies.

Of course, these problems can also stem from the descenting procedure,
but you'll want to make it easy on the baby so he doesn't strain when
passing stool. This may help.
