>[log in to unmask] - taking ferrets outside
We all seem to take this for granted, but: FERRETS SHOULD BE RESTRAINED WITH
A HARNESS AND LEASH WHEN OUTSIDE AT ALL TIMES.

>ferret nutrition basics (here and abroad) - you pick the brand.
recommendation:

Protein 32% or higher
Meat/poultry/byproduct as the first ingredient
18% fat or higher
Avoid fish and corn in the first three ingredients.

>[log in to unmask] - smelly ferret
1. bathe only once a month - trust me.
2. Use a pine pellet litter - really is great for odor control.
3. Avoid ferret/kitten diets with fish - really makes for smelly poops.
4. Keep the ears and bedding clean - wash weekly.

>[log in to unmask] - ECE concerns

Your young ferret probably just had a loose bowel from food changes and
environmental adjustments. Please do not panic over ECE, especially for a
kit (kits have never had problems with ECE - why? - probably because their
intestines repair so quickly).
