I am a vet tech and have used the vena cava for blood draws for many
years (6yrs). I have never had a problem. It is usually easy to get
and far less stressful on the ferret. When I was learning I practiced
on ferrets while they were under anesthesia. Now I can get it all by
myself without having another person holding the ferret. It is nice to
get a good sample without any hemolysis.

Hope that helps
