I'm a sharer too.  Mine love iced tea, and will fight over who gets to drink
it first.  They'll be playing and will stop to come over and get a drink.
 
Its cute to watch them hold the cup and drink it.  As far as food from my
plate, well I don't have a choice.  One thing I've noted on ferrets, they
don't beg.  They take.  Its theirs anyway, so why ask for permission, right?
 
I'd do the same thing you did with your banana.  Its funny, because I've
always had animals, and I would never think of letting my dog eat from my
ice cream cone.  They've trained me well.
 
Every time I get a sore throat my mother says its from sharing with the
ferrets!  Ha!
