Unless you have some other explanation for the initial high protein
reading in the urine, you might want to go ahead and do the renal panel.
Kidney problems can cause weakness in the back legs -- that happened to
one of my beloved fuzzies who later died of glomerulonephritis (a kidney
disease). The sooner you catch kidney problems, the sooner you can begin
treating them.
 
Now, please ignore this suggestion if one of the vets here has another
explanation for the high protein reading.
