I have just found and joined this list.  I will be going over the FAQ soon,
but will introduce myself now as I will probably have additional ??
My DH and I are animal people and are thinking of getting a Ferret.  We
first want to be sure we will be good Ferret parents.  We have at present
2 Miniature Donkeys and one adopted Burro.  5 adopted Desert Tortoises, 2
Black Labs, 2 - 13 year old house kitties, 3 adopted Amazon Parrots and a
Citron Cockatoo.  I have always wanted one of these joyful Ferrets.  I have
a machine quilting business in my home, so am able to spend time with my
critter friends.  Our goal is to educate ourselves before we get a Ferret
so as to give it the best possible home.  Our birds are ones that someone
"wanted", only to find they are noisy, messy, demanding and need more
attention than most companions.  I was so sorry to read of some of your
losses.  We had to have a 36 year old little donkey kindly put to sleep in
January, I will not get over this anytime soon.
 
I will try not to ask ?  that are perhaps in the FAQ for me to find, but
as a First Ferret person I hope you will not mind if ask for expert advice
from you Ferret parents.  My computer will be down for a few days for
upgrading, but I will return next week.
