Kim, et al,

I have no intention of continuing a debate with no end- neither side
will be changing their mind anytime soon, I just wanted to provide a
bit of perspective gleaned from years of experience with many many
different animals, many owners, zookeepers, veterinarians and the
myriad of other experts we have and continue to consult with.

I respect your position and the enthusiasm you have to care for your
ferrets - if only all owers were so dedicated!

I prefer not to feed live prey for the health, safety and behavioral
reasons I have already stated, and I simply don't think others should
be shamed into trying live prey by enthusiasts of the practice if they
do not feel it is the right choice for their pet. Certainly no one
should try it without a great deal of information and preparation
beforehand. Personally I do not think there is any brainwashing of
consumers by processed food manufacturing - pet or otherwise. We all
have the free choice to learn everything we can and make our own
decisions - and that again is another debate for somewhere else.

Again I close with:
As long as people provide quality food, shelter, medical care, and
a loving environment the ferrets (and other critters) can be happy &
live a good long life.

Take care
Beth
