One thing that wasn't said clearly enough is NOT to use MINUTE RICE.
If ingested, it can swell and cause a blockage.

I use pit balls in my ferret room. I find them on ebay. If you look for
a while, you will find them for a good price. I buy 100 at the time.
When they get grungy, I dump them and start over. I put them in the
plastic base of an old cage that is about 20" x 30", and is about 6"
high with a scooped out area for them to get in.
