Hi all!
Its spring again and the ferrets are doing a lot of changing right now. I
know that one of the major changes that is happening in the ferrets is
weight changes. I have two ferrets and they are both changing a lot right
now. Taz has lost a lot of weight, but I am not worried about that. He is
still quite active and I have read that they can lose up to about 40% of
their body weight in the spring. The one that confuses me is TJ. He has
been eating like a pig and has become quite rolly-polly. I remember
somebody mentioning that the way to tell if your ferret is fat is to hold
them up by their front feet/shoulder area and let then hang. They should be
sleek. Well, TJ is beginning to bulge a little. Right now I am just
planning on watching them for a while, but the question that persists is how
do you put one on a diet and not the other one? They live in the same cage
and I free feed them.

Thanks for the info.

Ellen
Taz (now that I'm skinny again, I can get into more places.)
TJ (I'm not fat! there is just more of me to love.)
