I thought I would add my 2 cents to the debate as to whether shows were
"good" for ferrets.  My old ferret Tiberius (approximately 9) absolutely
loves all the attention he gets at ferret shows and frolics.  We took him
to the Pet Expo last year and he had a whole weekend of being petted and
held by 300 - 400 people a day.  On Monday he sulked because he wanted to
do it again!!
