I have to agree with Bob! Cherries, carbohydrates, and other sugary treats
are not good for your ferret! In the long run, they may actually cause
insulinomas! Offer your ferrets cooked meat (beef, chicken, turkey, fish,
eggs) and cooked fat (beef chicken, turkey, fish) as treats. In addition
baby food and Hill's a/d can be used as treats. This way you know what
food your ferret likes, and you can use it when thay are sick or after a
surgery. Mine just love anything that has been smoked or cooked on the
grill. Steak and salmon are their 2 favorite treats. Jerry Murray, DVM

[Sukie note: In October Performance Foods is planning to release a treat
based on chicken, chicken liver, etc.]
