Hi All!
 
   Does anyone know if ferrets need heartworm shots/pills?  I was under the
impression that they did not, but a friend just bought a pair of ferrets, and
his vet told them they would to be protected against heartworms.  Keep in
mind that I live in Michigan, where most of the vets don't have much
experience with ferrets.  Thanks in advance for any help you might provide.
