Anthrax and ferrets

Is it posible for Ferrets or any animal to become infected with anthrax?
If so how can we tell if our ferrets have Anthrax.  I guess my main point
would be that if i were to order a ferret and it got shipped with Anthrax
infectted mail, how could i tell
