Hi Debbie,
I am so sorry to hear about Slinky.
As far as my experience go I never saw, heard or have
had a ferret who died without having any symptons of
illness.
It sounds as if he did eat something what did struck
in his troat.
My thoughts are with you, I know how hard it must be
to loose so many babies within a short time.
