Another useful way to connect tunnels and other homemade items to your cage
are looseleaf rings. This items are available at many office supply
companies and resemble single rings from a notebook. They are hinged on one
side and designed to lock closed on the other. In fact, when I looked
closely at a ferret toy at the pet store of the frisbee lined with fleece
variety it used these same rings. One advantage of these rings is that they
are hinged and can open widely to make hooking things together easier. They
also come in a variety of sizes.
