Good morning, FMLers.

We've had so many sad stories on the FML lately. My heart goes out to
those of you with sick fuzzies and those whose furkids have gone to the
Rainbow Bridge. I wanted to share a mostly cheerful quick story with all
of you.

Last night when I was putting the ferrets back in their cages before
bedtime, I had just put our littlest, Kyra Monchichi, in when Claudia tried
to slip back out of the cage. I was trying so hard to be sure Claudia
didn't get back out that I accidentally shut the cage door on Kyra's tail.
She immediately started to squeal and as soon as I realized what I had
done, I opened the door so she could get loose. She ran around the cage
for a moment while I tried to get her out so I could look at her tail to
be sure it wasn't broken. I finally managed to get her, feeling so guilty
for having hurt her, and picked her up and held her close, telling her
how sorry I was. As soon as I held her to my face, she started lavishing
kisses on me. :) Even though I didn't feel that I deserved kisses, she was
trying to tell me she knew I didn't mean to hurt her and that she forgave
me. Luckily her tail was fine, and though I was upset about the accident,
those kisses made me feel much better. Is it any wonder we love these
little creatures so much?
