It seems that I am always hearing from people who no longer want ferrets
when I can't take any more. I also hear of people who want them after
they are already gone. So, my idea is: how about I get a list of ferret
friendly people in the Kentucky and Southern Indiana area just so I will
have a little network of people who may be able to help in situations like
these. I've also been thinking of starting a club for awhile, but I just
don't have a lot of time.

So, if you would like to be part of such a thing, please contact me and
maybe we can start something good here. I live in Louisville, Kentucky and
I frequent Eastern Kentucky since my family lives in Knott Co. My husband
has family near Paducah so we are also out that way often.

Another thing, I have noticed a lot of posts lately about ferrets that
attack feet. My ferrets mysteriously stopped this behavior after I started
letting them lick Nutracal off my feet. I just couldn't hold five ferrets
at one time to let them lick it out of the tube, so I started putting it on
my bare feet and training them to go there when I whistled. It works
great! Now if I need their attention, I don't have to go looking for the
squeak toy. They also don't see my feet as playthings anymore, they see
them as treat dispensers. The only problem now is that they sometimes
follow me around staring straight up at me begging. It's cute though so I
don't mind. :)
