If anyone has any suggestions to help me, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks for the information you gave me already, Dr. Williams!

Cody was rushed to the Emergency Vet last night (Wed.) at midnight with a
rock-hard bladder (he was dragging his belly across the carpet). Cody
has always been very healthy, but about three weeks ago after receiving
his distemper shot (probably no correlation), he started to act
different. He was walking around with his tail up in the air and he
continually urinated all over the house (maybe just a few drops,
sometimes more).

Well, the vet could not get a cathider (sp?) through into his urethra
last night, so an incision was made to open his bladder and insert a
balloon cathider. It relieved his pressure and I took him to my regular
vet this morning. He is going to try the cathider again. I spoke with
Dr. Williams and he gave me the numbers of Drs. Weiss and Dr. Kawasaki
to give to my vet since they are very experienced in this matter. My vet
is giving me a 25% success rate but with possible continued problems.
I'll update you as to Cody's condition.

PLEASE do yourself a favor. Don't overlook any abnormal behavior with
your ferret! I should have probably gone to the vet sooner, but I just
didn't realize the severity of the problem.

If you could just have seen Cody this morning with an IV in his arm and a
catheder in his belly, you would have cried also. He curled up in my lap
while we drove to my regular vet. Cody is scared and so am I! I am
going to really miss my fuzz ball if he doesn't make it.

Jim
